We will spend roughly two weeks doing an admittedly brief overview of some critical theory and literary lenses. Part I. I will provide you with a packet of canonical short critical lens which you may or may not have read before. Your first task is to read them all. Then, as we cover each lens choose one of the stories to apply that lens to.
I advise you choose whichever seems the easiest for critical lens first attempt. Write a paragraph which interprets the story through the critical lens, explaining the events, motivations, and symbolism from the perspective critical lens someone interested in that way of looking at the world. You may certainly use the same story for multiple lenses and, likewise, not use a story at all. Please collect all your paragraphs in one document, with identifying headings for each paragraph story title and lens.
Part II. You may choose to incorporate this analysis into one piece of writing, or to break critical lens up into multiple short chunks.
